Contract, Policies and Procedures

Cheshire College South & West’s Higher Education student contract, policies and procedures, student handbook and academic regulations aim to provide students with a safe and supportive environment in which to study. It is important that as a student, you know that these policies exist and their relevance to you as a CCSW Higher Education student.

Widening Participation and Access to Higher Education

Cheshire College – South & West is committed to widening access and participation for all prospective students and seeks to encourage access to learning by reducing barriers that some students may face when considering Higher Education (HE) programmes. This is reflected in ‘Our Purpose’ statement which is ‘Nurturing talent and empowering people to achieve their full potential; supporting businesses to succeed and communities to thrive’. We are committed to ensuring all students reach their potential and leave us with the best possible outcome and career ready. The College’s Higher Education provision has been developed as a result of student need and in response to the needs of local commerce and business. The College takes an active and local lead to provide high-quality education. Please see our Access and Participation Statement:

Applications and Admissions Transparency Information

The information published on these pages shows:

  • The number of applications for admission on to recognised, undergraduate higher education courses that we have received from UK domiciled applicants.
  • The number of offers we have made in relation to those applications.
  • The number of those offers accepted and the number of those who have registered with us.
  • The number of students who attained a particular degree or other academic award, or a particular level of such an award, on completion of their course with us.

It also shows these numbers by reference to:

  • The gender of the individuals to which they relate
  • Their ethnicity
  • Their socio-economic background.

It is important to note that the data presented has not been contextualised. This means, for example, that you will not be able to see from this data how many of those applying to courses met the entry criteria. It is also the case that universities and colleges will often receive many more applications than they have spaces on courses and so offer rates will necessarily be lower than application rates in those circumstances.
